The hip-hop movement in Beirut started towards the end of the 90s. The group « kitaa Bey-Route » [ Beirut’s sector] were the first to rap in Lebanese Arabic and were invited to represent Lebanon in a music festival In France in 2002. The six guys missed their flight back, disappeared and decided to stay illegally in Europe leaving everything behind. I was part of the group and eight years later decided to pay a visit to every member – with my camera.

“Zourouni koulli sana marra (Visit me once a year)” screened at the on Saturday 29th January, 2011 under the theme Migrants’ rights and discrimination
